With the scare industry becoming more and more popular at theme parks and visitor attractions around the world, the theming industry has become very good at designing and developing thrilling escape-room attractions.

If you’ve not yet experienced the excitement of an escape room, guests are locked inside an enclosed space and challenged to escape within a certain time period – experiencing a nightmarish situation they hope never to encounter in real life..! Think ‘The Crystal Maze’ without the Crystals (or Richard O’Brien) and instead, just pure fear!

We’ve recently launched our very own escape room at Thorpe Park Containment, set on an island whose inhabitants have been plagued by an unknown virus.

Set inside two 40ft x 8ft shipping containers, each of Containment’s four rooms has its very own logic puzzle, riddles or physical challenge that guests must decipher and solve or complete in order to move to the next room and one step closer to escape… A maximum of 10 guests are able to move through Containment at any one time. In the first room, guests must hunt down the code to unlock the door which, when opened, leads them down an air vent to the next room…

Then, guests will find themselves in an office, only to be faced with the challenge of solving a cryptic puzzle, the answer to which will aid their escape…

… To an even more intense escape experience… A dental surgery! Here, the thrill of the escape room experience is enhanced by live actors.

Once completing the set task in the surgery, guests are led to the fourth and final room… Here you must escape in order to finally cure yourself from the virus that has been plaguing the island.
