Scruffy Dog are looking for a new Art Director. The candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of design, strong management skills and experience in film, television and digital media. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing 2D and 3D designers in numerous leisure, theming and museum design projects. You will be fully involved in all stages of the design process and will have a strong creative eye with the ability to confidently explain your ideas as well as the ability to develop visuals. We are looking for someone personable to act as a point-of-call for our artists in the studio, and should have the intuition to work both independently and as well as a team.

Responsibilities include:
– Staying on top of the time constraints for multiple projects.
– Ensuring artists meet standards of finish that are appropriate for the brief.
– Understanding the capabilities of different artists in order to assign tasks effectively.
– Ensuring project schedules are adhered to so that deadlines are met.
– Liaising with the production team to ensure concepts meet construction requirements and to keep them on track with the creative direction.
– Being aware of all processes happening within the studio in order to maintain productivity
– Attending client meetings and developing ideas for discussion with other design managers.

Requirements:
– Good eye for detail
– Soft skills to maintain a pleasant studio environment
– An understanding of Photoshop is essential.
– Experience in film, television and digital media
– Artistic ability, whether in 2D, 3D or a mix. Candidates without a portfolio will not be considered – At least 3 years experience in a similar role

Desired:
– An interest in interior design would be beneficial
– knowledge of 3D software such as Maya, 3Dsmax and Sketchup
